How ElementZoom Started
It began in my own home. A few smart lights here, a video doorbell there, and before long I had a dozen apps that didn’t talk to each other and “smart” stopped feeling simple.
So I started looking for a better way. That’s how I found Home Assistant, an open platform that runs everything locally, with no subscriptions and no relying on someone else’s cloud server to turn your own lights on. It took real work to set up properly, but once it clicked, it just worked.
Along the way, I had the chance to build systems for a handful of clients as far as the US and Australia, which taught me a lot about doing this properly, not just plugging in gadgets, but building something that lasts.
I’ve always been right here in Morrinsville, and now I want homeowners across Waikato to have that same thing without needing to become the tech expert themselves. That’s ElementZoom.

So what makes us different?
Most smart home systems depend on someone else’s server, someone else’s subscription, and someone else’s decision to keep the product running. One bad update and suddenly your automations stop working.
We build everything to run locally, inside your home. No cloud dependency, no monthly fees. Your system works whether the internet is up or down, and it’ll still be working five years from now.
We’re your neighbors in Morrinsville, Waikato NZ. If something needs sorting, you’ve got our number, not a helpdesk ticket.
